Why every article needs a brief
Most articles that don't rank answer a different question from the one searchers asked. A brief starts from search intent: does the searcher want to learn, compare, or buy? Then it shapes the outline around that, so every section earns its place.
It also saves editing time. Writers who start from a clear outline, questions and terms to cover produce a usable first draft far more often.
Writing for AI answers as well as Google
AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity quote pages that answer a question directly and clearly. Put a two- or three-sentence answer right under each question heading, use real headings for real questions, and cover the related entities a topic expert would mention.
Check the live results too
The generator doesn't see today's search results. Before writing, look at the top results for the keyword, note what they all cover and find what they miss. That gap is your angle.
