Wedding venue website: what it needs to win enquiries

A wedding venue website wins enquiries when couples can answer three questions fast: does this venue look like our wedding, can we afford it, and is our date free? In practice that means a homepage with video of the venue, a packages page with real starting prices, a gallery of real weddings and a short enquiry form that asks for date, guest numbers and event type. The rest, from separate event pages to GA4 and HubSpot tracking, is there to get more couples to that form and to tell the venue where each enquiry came from.

I've built both kinds of page I talk about here. For Ravens Ait, a venue on an island in the Thames, I built the WordPress site on Bricks Builder with 20+ event pages, Stripe bookings and HubSpot forms. For Warren House, a hotel and wedding venue in Kingston, I built a new Elementor Pro homepage with a video hero, rooms first and Google reviews. Both came through my work with Aura Clips, a London agency. I'm sticking to wedding venues here. If you run a hotel or restaurant more broadly, I cover that in what a hotel or restaurant website needs to take bookings.

Why does the website matter so much when couples choose a venue?

Because UK couples shortlist venues online and then book quickly. Bridebook's UK Wedding Report 2026, based on 7,000+ couples, found that 79% booked their venue within four weeks of first contact and 92% within two months. The venue is also the biggest single cost: Bridebook puts the average UK venue spend, excluding catering, at £6,040.

79%

92%

So a venue website isn't really a brochure. It's where couples build their shortlist. If they can't work out the basics on a phone in a few minutes, they close your tab and open the next venue's.

What should a wedding venue homepage show first?

The venue in motion, the accommodation and real reviews, then a clear next step. On the Warren House homepage I put three things in a deliberate order:

  • A video hero. A photo shows a room. Video shows light, scale and movement, and that's what couples are really trying to judge. WedPro reports that 67% of couples enjoy watching virtual tours, so moving footage earns its space.
  • Rooms near the top. Warren House is a hotel as well as a wedding venue, so the rooms sit high on the page. Rooms on site answer "where will our guests stay?" before a couple has to ask.
  • Google reviews. Reviews from real couples and guests, pulled from Google, do more for trust than anything a venue writes about itself.

The catch is that video makes the page heavier. Done badly, it wrecks your Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), which Google counts as good at 2.5 seconds or less. If you want a full fix list, my free Page Speed Fix Planner turns a PageSpeed Insights report into a ranked plan.

Don't let the video slow the page

Use a short, muted, compressed loop and a light poster image that appears straight away. Never make couples wait for a full-length film to load before they see the venue.

Should a wedding venue show prices on its website?

Yes. Show at least a starting price. In the Gen Z section of Bridebook's UK Wedding Report 2026, 88% of couples said they expect to find pricing online without contacting the venue, and 81% said they'd felt frustrated with venue responses. Hiding prices behind a brochure request doesn't filter out anyone useful. It just annoys people, including the couples who'd happily pay.

A packages page that does its job usually covers:

ElementWhat to showWhy it helps
Starting price"From" prices for peak and off-peak datesCouples can rule themselves in or out
What's includedCeremony, wedding breakfast, evening, drinks, coordinatorMakes your packages easy to compare
MinimumsMinimum guests or minimum spend by day and seasonSaves an awkward call later
Exclusive useYes or no, and the hoursA big deciding factor for many couples
Full brochureDetailed menus and terms as a downloadCollects contact details from engaged couples
AvailabilityRemaining dates, or a prompt to ask about next yearGives them a reason to enquire now

If you want contact details, put the full brochure behind a short form. Leave the starting prices on the page.

How many pages does a wedding venue website need?

One for every space, wedding type and event couples search for. That's more than most venues have. A single "Weddings" page tries to rank for everything and usually ranks for nothing. Ceremonies, receptions, small weddings, winter weddings, each space you hire out, accommodation and the other events you host should each get their own page.

That's why Ravens Ait has 20+ event pages. At that scale, build them from shared templates with fixed sections for photos, capacity, what's included and a call to action. Every page stays consistent, and adding a new one takes minutes rather than a day. Separate pages also give your ads somewhere specific to land, and each one can carry its own structured data. My free Schema Markup Generator writes the JSON-LD, and the FAQ Generator drafts the questions couples actually ask.

On page builders: Ravens Ait runs on Bricks Builder and Warren House on Elementor Pro, and both are fine for a venue. Bricks tends to give lighter pages; Elementor makes sense if your team already uses it. I compare them properly in Bricks vs Elementor vs Oxygen.

What makes a wedding enquiry form convert?

Keep it short, ask only what the events team needs for a useful reply, and tell couples what happens after they press send. The fields that earn their place:

  • Names, plus email or phone
  • Preferred date, with a "we're flexible" option
  • Approximate guest numbers
  • Type of event: full wedding, ceremony only, reception or evening
  • Budget band (optional)

If a field doesn't help your coordinator write a better first reply, cut it.

How fast you reply matters as much as the fields. VenueBot, which sells enquiry automation, estimates in its 2026 UK enquiry report that 68 to 72% of venue enquiries arrive outside office hours. It's a vendor's number, so take it with a pinch of salt, but the point stands. An instant auto-reply with your brochure and a link to book a viewing keeps working while your team is asleep.

On Ravens Ait the forms run on HubSpot, so enquiries go straight into a CRM instead of sitting in a shared inbox.

  1. 1

    Couple submits the form

Date, flexibility, guest numbers and event type, in under a minute on a phone.

  2. 2

    Instant auto-reply

The brochure, starting prices and a link to book a show-round, sent automatically at any hour.

  3. 3

    Lead lands in the CRM

HubSpot stores the enquiry with its source so nobody has to copy details out of an inbox.

  4. 4

    Personal reply

Your coordinator follows up the same working day and answers the questions the couple actually asked.

  5. 5

    Viewing booked

The couple picks a slot, and the show-round becomes the next tracked step.

How should a wedding venue gallery be built?

Show real weddings, grouped by space and season, with images compressed so the page loads fast on a phone. Couples want to see weddings, not empty rooms. Caption each set with what they care about (the room, the guest count, the time of year) and credit the photographer. Add a short walkthrough video for couples who can't visit yet.

Galleries are usually the heaviest pages on a venue site, and couples tend to browse them on their phones in the evening. Serve WebP or AVIF, size images to the space they fill and lazy-load everything below the fold. Under1MB, the free in-browser compressor I built, converts and compresses images in 11 formats in your browser, without uploading anything.

Can couples book and pay on a wedding venue website?

Not for the wedding itself, usually. That needs a viewing, a contract and a deposit. But a lot around the wedding can be booked and paid for online, and it's worth considering for any venue: show-round slots, open days, tasting evenings, wedding fairs and public events that fill your quieter dates.

Ravens Ait takes bookings with Stripe on the site, built into its event pages. If you're planning pages like that, I cover what makes them work in how to build an event landing page that converts.

If that fits your venue, it's something I build: booking and event landing pages with Stripe.

What tracking should a wedding venue set up?

Enough to trace every enquiry back to where it came from. Most venues pay for directory listings and ads but can't say which ones bring bookings. Use Google Tag Manager to send GA4 events for form submissions, brochure downloads, phone clicks, email and WhatsApp clicks, viewing bookings and Stripe purchases. Add UTM tags to every link on your Hitched, Bridebook and social profiles, and keep the original source on each HubSpot contact.

How much does a wedding venue website cost in the UK?

It depends on scope. The bottom of the market is a template subscription such as Built Local's £99 setup and £49 a month. A custom build costs more, and the factors below decide how much. I break down custom build costs for UK hospitality sites in how much a hotel website costs in the UK. For a custom build, these are the things that push the price up:

FactorLower costHigher cost
Pages8 to 10 core pages20+ event and space pages
DesignTemplateCustom Figma design
HeroPhotosFilmed, optimised video
FormsBasic email formHubSpot forms with auto-replies
BookingsEnquiries onlyStripe payments for events
TrackingPage views onlyGA4 events for every action

Keep the scale in mind. With the average UK couple spending £6,040 on the venue alone, one extra booking covers a good chunk of the site.

What should you ask a developer before hiring?

Ask for proof of venue work, a plan for page speed and straight answers on enquiries, tracking and ownership:

  • Can you show me venue or event sites you've built, and what you built on each?
  • How will a video hero affect page speed, and how will you keep LCP under 2.5 seconds?
  • Can my team add a new event page or package without you?
  • Where do enquiries go, and what happens if the email fails?
  • Which actions will you track in GA4, and will I see the source of each enquiry?
  • Who owns the domain, hosting and code when the project ends?

What's the first step to more venue enquiries?

If your site gets visits but not enquiries, start with the packages page and the enquiry form. Paste your packages copy into my free Landing Page Roaster for a quick read on clarity and calls to action. If you want the whole site rebuilt, or just the event pages, booking flow and tracking, have a look at my WordPress websites on Bricks, Elementor and Oxygen service or book a 20-minute call.

Frequently asked

Should a wedding venue put its prices on its website?+

Yes. Show at least a starting price, what's included and any minimum guest numbers or spend. Bridebook's UK Wedding Report 2026 found 88% of Gen Z couples expect to find venue pricing online, and hiding prices mostly frustrates the couples who could afford you.

What fields should a wedding venue enquiry form have?+

Names, email or phone, preferred date with a 'we're flexible' option, rough guest numbers and type of event. An optional budget band helps the events team send a useful first reply instead of a generic template.

Can couples book and pay for a wedding venue online?+

The wedding itself usually needs a viewing, a contract and a deposit, so it's rarely booked fully online. Venues can take online bookings and Stripe payments for things like show-rounds, open days, tasting evenings and public events. Mohit Goyal built Stripe bookings into the Ravens Ait venue site's event pages.

Will a video hero slow down my wedding venue website?+

It can, if the video is long or uncompressed. Use a short, muted, compressed loop with a light poster image that shows straight away, so the page still meets Google's Largest Contentful Paint threshold of 2.5 seconds or less.

Is Bricks Builder or Elementor better for a wedding venue website?+

Both work. Mohit Goyal built the Ravens Ait venue site on Bricks Builder and the Warren House homepage on Elementor Pro. Bricks tends to produce lighter pages, while Elementor makes sense if the venue's team already knows it.

How can a wedding venue tell which directory brings in bookings?+

Add UTM tags to every Hitched, Bridebook and social profile link, track form submissions and phone clicks in GA4 through Google Tag Manager, and keep the original source on each enquiry in a CRM such as HubSpot. Then compare bookings from each directory with what the listing costs.
