For developers and technical founders

Describe a system, get the diagram

The Architecture Diagram Generator turns a plain-English description of a system into a clear diagram: system architecture, user flow, sequence or database (ER). It renders live on the page, and you get the Mermaid code to paste into GitHub, Notion or your docs, plus a breakdown of every component and its weak spots.

  2. Pick a diagram type

Architecture, user flow, sequence or database (ER), depending on what you need to explain.

  3. Copy the diagram

See it rendered, then copy the Mermaid code into GitHub, Notion or your docs.

Why diagrams beat paragraphs

A system description is hard to hold in your head; a diagram shows every part and connection at once. It is the fastest way to onboard a developer, spot a missing piece or agree on a design before anyone builds it.

Which diagram should I choose?

Architecture shows the parts of a system and how they connect. User flow shows the steps a person takes. Sequence shows the order of messages between parts for one action, such as checkout. Database (ER) shows tables, their key fields and how they relate.

What is Mermaid?

Mermaid is a text format for diagrams. GitHub, GitLab, Notion, Obsidian and many documentation tools render it directly, so the diagram lives next to your code and stays easy to update.

Copy the code block from your result and paste it into any of them, or into mermaid.live to edit it visually.

Questions

Frequently asked

Can I edit the diagram?+

Yes. Copy the Mermaid code, change the text and paste it into mermaid.live, GitHub or Notion to see the updated diagram.

Does GitHub support Mermaid diagrams?+

Yes. Put the code in a Markdown file inside a code block marked mermaid and GitHub renders it as a diagram.

How detailed should my description be?+

Name each part, such as apps, services, databases and third-party APIs, and say what talks to what. The more specific the connections, the more accurate the diagram.

Can it design the architecture for me?+

It draws what you describe and points out weak spots. For a recommended stack, try the Tech Stack Advisor, and for a full design review, book a free call.
