A hotel website in the UK costs whatever its scope says, and the scope is shaped by six things: whether you build a booking engine or link to the one you already have, how many page templates you need, how much wedding and event content there is, which integrations it must connect to, who supplies the content, and how it is looked after once live. I do not publish fixed prices, because a scope has to come first for any quote to mean something. In 2025 I built and fixed UK hotel and venue sites through a London agency, including Crowne Plaza London Kingston, Warren House and Ravens Ait, and this is how each of those drivers played out.
Why is there no single price for a hotel website?
Because "hotel website" covers very different projects. A homepage refresh on an existing site, a rebuild of a broken site and a new venue site with twenty event pages are all hotel websites. The three projects below sit at different points on that range.
| Project | What was built | What kept the scope down |
|---|---|---|
| Crowne Plaza London Kingston | Rebuild of a broken Elementor site, then a blog and promo popups | Rooms link to IHG booking, so no booking engine was built |
| Warren House | New homepage and fixes on an existing site | A 24-page plan was scoped, and the hotel started with the homepage |
| Ravens Ait | A full venue site from scratch, with event pages and paid bookings | Nine event pages and eleven seasonal pages come from one template |
What does it cost to hire a developer in India?
| What you get | Approx £ | India range in ₹ | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic hotel or venue site with an enquiry form | £350–£650 | ₹45,000–₹85,000 | bloomagency.in, vnainfotech.framer.ai |
| Hotel site with a booking-engine link | £800–£2,350 | ₹1,00,000–₹3,00,000 | vnainfotech.framer.ai, colorwhistle.com |
| WordPress maintenance retainer, business site | £40–£80 a month | ₹5,000–₹10,000 a month (freelancers ₹3,000–₹8,000) | upgrowth.in, pegasusdigital.co.in |
These are typical market ranges Indian freelancers and small agencies publish, converted at October 2026 exchange rates (£1 = ₹127.2). My own quote comes from a written scope, and the Project Scope Generator gives you one to compare quotes against.
What moves the cost of a hotel website?
| Cost driver | Lighter path | Heavier path |
|---|---|---|
| Room bookings | Link each room to your reservation system | Build or embed a booking engine |
| Pages | A few templates reused for many pages | Many one-off page designs |
| Weddings and events | Enquiry forms per event type | Ticketed events with payments, dates and packages |
| Integrations | Forms to an inbox | CRM, payments, tag manager, review feeds |
| Content | You supply copy and photos ready to use | Copy written and photos prepared during the build |
| After launch | Occasional updates | A retainer with monthly change work |
The rest of this post takes each row in turn.
Do you need to build a booking engine?
Usually not, and this is the single biggest saving. Crowne Plaza London Kingston has a grid of eight rooms with hover amenity icons, and each one links to IHG booking in a new tab. The hotel's reservation system stays the source of truth for availability and prices, and nobody had to build or maintain a second one.
Meeting rooms are different, because they are sold by enquiry. On the same site, a meeting rooms grid uses venue-specific dropdown forms, so an enquiry arrives already tagged with the right space. That is a form, not a booking system, and it costs accordingly.
If you are an independent hotel without a reservation system, choosing one is a separate decision from the website. Most third-party booking engines charge a subscription or a commission. Either way, the website's job is to link to it cleanly.
How does page count change the cost?
Less than you might think, as long as pages share templates. On Ravens Ait there are nine event pages, including Asian and European wedding sub-pages, and eleven seasonal pages from Holi to Boxing Day. All of them come from one Bricks template with one heading structure, so a new occasion is a content task rather than a build. Count templates, not pages, when you compare quotes.
Phasing also changes the cost. For Warren House, a 24-page site plan was scoped and quoted, and the hotel chose to start with a new homepage and a few fixes. That covered a video hero, rooms placed first in the page order, Google reviews, a new header and footer, a Wedding Fair popup, a fix for a legacy popup whose close button did not work, and a blog listing with a first post. The wider redesign is on hold, and the hotel already has most of the visible benefit.
What do weddings, events and ticketed offers add?
Each event type adds a page, an enquiry path and often a CRM connection. On Ravens Ait, enquiry forms sync to HubSpot through Google Tag Manager, with mandatory fields so leads arrive complete.
Paid events add more. The Wimbledon Tennis on the Island page has a date picker, per-date packages, Stripe payment through Forminator, customer and admin email templates, past dates disabled and a daily booking summary email. That gave the venue paid bookings without a full e-commerce install. I explain the setup in how to take paid event bookings on WordPress with Stripe.
If ticketed events are in your plan, list each one with its packages and dates. That list is most of the quote.
Which integrations should you budget for?
Every integration is a line in the quote, and a setting someone has to own. The ones that came up on these projects:
- Reservation system links, as with IHG on Crowne Plaza.
- CRM forms and popups. Warren House runs its popups and leads through HubSpot, and part of the job was diagnosing a HubSpot popup that was not firing.
- Payments through Stripe on Ravens Ait.
- Google Tag Manager, which on Ravens Ait keeps the HubSpot connection out of the theme code.
- Review feeds. Warren House and Ravens Ait fetch reviews from Google, so social proof stays current.
Say who owns each account, such as HubSpot, Stripe and Google, before the build starts.
Who supplies the content and photos?
Decide this early, because writing copy for many pages is often bigger work than building them. Hospitality sites are also photo-heavy, so images need resizing and compression before they go live. Check the pages you are missing as well. The old Crowne Plaza site had no privacy or cookie pages, and adding them, along with an FAQ, was part of the rebuild.
My post on what a hotel or restaurant website needs to take bookings lists the pages and features that mattered on every hospitality site I built.
What does a hotel website cost to run after launch?
Plan for three running costs: hosting, licences and changes.
- Hosting. Pick a host with a sensible cache. On Crowne Plaza a GoDaddy cache layer was swallowing form submissions. It looked like a form bug, and upgrading PHP from 8.0 to 8.3 fixed it.
- Licences. Page builders such as Elementor Pro and Bricks, and caching plugins such as WP Rocket, are paid products with their own renewal terms. Ask which licences a quote includes and whose name they are in.
- Changes. Hotel sites keep changing. After the Crowne Plaza site went live on 17 June 2025, I added a blog listing and promo popups the hotel can switch on for seasonal offers. Ravens Ait gained Wimbledon, Christmas and party night pages later in 2025.
What a retainer covers is in what does a WordPress maintenance retainer cover.
Should you rebuild or improve what you have?
Improve first if the site mostly works. Warren House kept its WordPress site and got a new homepage on the Elementor Pro setup its team already knew. Crowne Plaza started with a quick homepage repair in April 2025, and only after that did the agency and the hotel agree a proper rebuild rather than more patching. A rebuild costs more, so it should solve a problem that patching cannot.
How do you get quotes you can compare?
Write one scope and send it to everyone. It should list:
- Every page template, and roughly how many pages use each.
- How rooms are booked, and which reservation system you use.
- Each event type, and whether it is by enquiry or paid.
- Every integration, and who owns the account.
- Who supplies copy and photos.
- What happens after launch.
The free Project Scope Generator turns a two-line description into a feature list, pages and build phases you can edit. Then the differences between quotes reflect how each developer works, not what each one guessed.
Where should you start?
Start with your booking path and your event list, because those two decide most of the scope. If you need enquiry and paid event pages, that is what my booking and event landing pages with Stripe service covers, and the rest is on my services page. Book a call or send me your current site, and I will reply with what I would build first.
